Betina, now age 12, is turning into a beautiful young girl who still loves dolls! That’s the thing I love about the Haitian people and children: they “never grow up!” They are always childlike in their nature.
Betina doesn’t like sports as much as she likes “being a girl!”
She is very intelligent and makes good grades in school. She loves doing “praise dances with her sisters!”
Most of all, she loves “braiding her sisters’ hair!” The kids at the orphanage call her “Je Fond” or “Deep Eyes.” (Maybe that means she sees things she’s not supposed to see! Ha!) We love her!!
