On May 1st in Haiti, it is National Agricultural and Worker Day. Farmer John’s [butcher shop] is planning a big party to celebrate all of the amazing farmers in the community along with our Agricultural Training Center (ATC), and the Poul Mirak Co-operatif.
Farmer John’s is a business in the Gwo Maché Mirak (Grand Miracle Market). It is part of our sustainability project here in Haiti. They provide good quality meat to orphanages, schools, restaurants, and people all over the country. They are such a blessing to the local community also. They will be celebrating over 150 farmers who they buy all kinds of animals from. They buy goats, cows, chickens, and pigs, which brings a huge impact on the local economy.
These farmers would not have a place to sell because of the gang situation if they did not have Farmer John’s. Food produced in Haiti creates an economy! That is what we built the Grand Miracle Marketplace for!
Even in the middle of this crisis, they continue to bless the people of Haiti. God bless all the farmers and the employees at Farmer John’s. May you continue to grow. To God be the Glory!
The best is yet to come! We are so proud of Farmer John…
