We have good news to share!!! We have received our “license” to operate our Birthing Center legally. We are especially thankful to Dr. Barthelemy, for all his work, and Dr. Nadia, and Nixon (who is holding the license). There are birthing centers here in Haiti, but many do not have a “license.” Special thanks to MSPP, the Department of Health here in Haiti!

The second praise report, as promised, the wife of President Moïse, Madamn Martine Marie Moïse, has kept her word! When she attended our Birthing Center Inauguration, she promised that she would make it possible for our Love A Child Maternity Clinic, to be able to give “Birth Certificates” to mothers who have their babies born at our Birthing Center.

This means that mothers will be able to leave our Maternity Clinic with their babies’ Birth Certificate! For those of you who are not familiar with Haiti, mothers never get a Birth Certificate when they leave a maternity hospital. There may be “one” maternity clinic in Haiti who does this, but we are not sure. For most poor mothers, they would have to make many trips down the mountain or come from far, to go to a government office, to have this done. As a result, their child cannot go to school until they have a Birth Certificate. Some people from the government office came in Thursday to let us know that they were starting this process Monday. So, many children in Haiti do not have a Birth Certificate.
