As many of you know, the President of the Dominican Republic has closed the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. This was all over “canal water rights” in the northern part, between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The canal in question was the one that the former President of Haiti had been doing a lot on before he was killed. The closing of this border is a “nightmare.”
To begin with, thousands of Haitians and Dominicans make their living from buying and selling at this border. For us, it is causing us a lot of concern for our Haitian children. Jackson, who is one of our Haitian children, has kidney disease. He is being treated by a team of doctors in the D.R. All his medicines for his dialysis come in big bags, from the D.R. He must have regular “check-ups,” from his doctors over there. We have another child, Kenzy, who desperately needs good care from a specialist there. We buy many of our medicines from the D.R. and other items. And for us, it was the only safe way of buying food, materials, etc., from the towns right across the border.
We really need this border to open! Please be in prayer, thank you.
