Breaking News: Dangers in Haiti

This is fact:

This morning, Farmer John, who has the slaughterhouse inside Gwo Maché Mirak (Grand Miracle Market), had a driver who was coming to the market. He passed by the bad area that I spoke about in my post yesterday morning. John just told me, 15 minutes ago, that the gangs came and tried to take his vehicle. They shot three of the tires out with guns, but his driver “floored it” and made it back on the “rims!”

If you go back to my post yesterday morning, when I was talking about our ambulance (we have two), I spoke about the dangers of the roads out here. Just after my post went out, Al Stufflefield wrote, that yesterday, the director of his Children of Christ Orphanage was robbed at gunpoint right down the street from Love A Child. They took his vehicle, and by yesterday afternoon they “paid” to get it back, but it was full of bullet holes!

Yesterday, Florentine, one of our workers (who was just shot two months ago while going to the bank), took Fred and Doug just up the street to buy some varnish. A gang stopped them, but Doug locked the doors and they got away. Doug said they were drinking and taking grass.

I was told this morning from a good source, that yesterday the opposition groups were passing out money again to all of the thugs, gangsters and young people to keep all of the violence and manifestations going. The opposition groups have spent millions of dollars to pay people off. We have heard that they have “spent too much money now to stop,” and they won’t stop until the president of Haiti resigns or leaves.

This may be the last time that I will talk about the troubles here in Haiti. It hurts too much to talk about it. Just look up “Haiti news” on Google to find out what’s happening. Please pray for all of us here at Love A Child, the Haitian people, and especially the children and all of those in authority, including the president. Pray for all the missionaries in Haiti… Bobby and Sherry
