Bobby and I wake up each morning at 4:00 a.m. or earlier. I was sitting on the couch, checking a few e-mails, when I opened one from one of our Haitian workers. I had sent him to the garbage dump to check on a little girl there, and he sent me this picture of a little boy named Mayson. All he said was that “his mother died, and his father was in prison…” I began looking at him, his rugged face, wearing a “little green dress” (because he had no pants), barefooted. In a moment, my heart was broken, and tears were streaming down my face. Bobby asked me what was wrong, and I said, “It’s not fair. These children in the garbage dumps of Haiti are far more distressed than all of the illegal immigrants coming into our country.” This little boy is so malnourished that he could never make that long trip. Parts of Haiti are becoming so violent now that we put our lives in danger just trying to get food to the garbage dumps. I pray that the Lord continues to help us, to help them. It really, really breaks my heart into a million pieces. Sherry
