Here, you see Christian, age 16, and Nelson, who is now 10, cleaning their closets! Our children really don’t mind working, and no one complains!! Christian was just a small little boy when the Department of Social Services brought him to me. His mother had died, and his father was in prison.

Christian “grew into music!” He began singing at an early age and now is playing the keyboard and still singing. He is such a good kid and smiles all the time! Nelson was rescued from a Voodoo father and a mother who didn’t want him. She would “sit him on the ground in the hot sun every day,” right beside the hogs…no water or food. It was all I could stand. I just picked him up and headed for our orphanage.

Nelson is doing great!! He is as “smart as a whip!” He plays soccer and basketball and does all kinds of flips and summersaults! So, “cleaning a closet” is not a big deal!
