He’s 12 years old and in 7th grade. Colin Saint Louis is a bright young man. He is doing so good in school that it is hard for his teacher to keep ahead of him!

Colin’s father was deeply involved in Voodoo. He was a mean, hateful man… One day, when Colin’s stepmother made some rice in the big family pot, Colin stuck his hand in the pot and tried to get some rice scrapings that stick to the pot (Haitian children love this)… His father got so angry, he grabbed Colin and held his hand in the hot charcoal coals to “teach him a lesson.”

After we cleaned up his hand, gave him antibiotics, and bandaged it, his mother and father did not take care of his hand… After seeing the neglect, we called the Dept of Social Services and they asked us to take Colin in. We did.

Amazingly, this young man fit right into our “family,” and went to school. We could see he was very intelligent.
Colin loves to dance, loves to play soccer, and loves to tease his brothers! He is always working! He wants to be an engineer!

Sometimes, bad things happen to good people and good children… but, they have a good ending to a bad situation…We all love Colin! Sherry
