We first came in contact with Colin when we were called about a “mean father” in Miracle Village who held his son’s hand down on charcoal coals!! Unbelievable! Colin’s father was deep into Voodoo and had a bad temper. Colin’s mother had finished cooking rice over the hot coals, and after all the children had finished eating, Colin (about 6 years old), stuck his hand down in the big pot to get some of the scrapings of rice, sticking to the side of the “very hot” charcoal pot!! His father got so angry that he grabbed Colin’s hand and held it on the hot coals!! It burned his hand so badly!

We went and picked him up and took care of his burned hand. Then, we “made some phone calls!!” They told us to “keep the boy” and they would take care of sending someone to us to get the information. We were glad to take Colin into our orphanage. He is 15 years old now, in the 10th grade, and very intelligent. He wants to be an engineer. We are glad that the Lord sent him to us.
