Continuing to Feed the Hungry in L’Artibonite

We have just sent a truckload of food, rice, beans, spices, cooking oil, etc. to the village of L’Estère in L’Artibonite. This is a very poor area and an area of great hunger. Our first four children came to us from this village… Jonise, Julanne, Berry, and Sheline. Most live in mud huts or mud walls with tin roofs. (We also built a huge Love A Child School here and we feed the children every school day). The children in this village are “very, very hungry.”

Our Haitian Director, Nelio, was born in this village, so he also has a great burden for these people. We sent the food every two weeks. This food is cooked in those giant Haitian cooking pots, called, “chodias.” We are now feeding nearly 1,000 children a day, along with adults. We have hired cooks who rise up at 4:00 a.m. to cook the food, but first, several ladies travel “far” to bring back buckets of water.

It will take several hours to get everything together to feed the children and adults. We will be going back there Wednesday to visit the feeding program and check on the children in that area.

Thank you, partners, who helped sponsor a container of rice and those who helped us buy those big, fresh tilapia fish!!

God will richly bless you! Bobby and Sherry
