The poor here in Haiti are our most fragile people and children. Love A Child’s Jesus Healing Center Clinic handles many people each day. However, in some of the worst cases, we cannot take them because they need “Hospital Care.” (When this happens, we must send them to the nearest hospital, which is between us and the Dominican Republic.)

Early this morning, an elderly man arrived, who was in pain and had to be put in a wheelchair. Dr. Barthelemy is with him now… Mothers come with their babies… Many come because they need constant “dressing changes” from diabetes, open wounds, etc. But everyone who comes is treated as if they were “among the rich!”

Now, with gangs in the streets, we are seeing more severe cases… Yesterday, an entire big truck loaded down with poor peasant Haitians came to our gate; several had “gunshot wounds to their heads,” and several were dead already… When this happens, we must send them to the nearest hospital that we work with because we cannot do surgeries.

With the gangs controlling the streets, we see more “severe cases” than ever before. It is “breaking our hearts,” and there is no pain medicine or surgery for a “broken heart.”
