If you have never heard Daniel’s story, it is short and sad… He is from the very poor “mud-hut” village of Old Letant. His mother died, and his father died when he was hit in the head with a rock!” (Haitians can really throw rocks – as if they are bullets!)
The people of the village tried to keep him alive, but everyone had their own struggles with feeding their own children. They asked if we could take him and we said “Yes.” We never know what kind of child we will raise when we take in a baby. Sometimes, a child has a “curse” from generation to generation, as in Voodoo, but we know the Lord is more powerful! We noticed Daniel, (we call him Daniell-o), was having mental problems when we put him in school. He does not do well with other children… he is “always by himself.” He just cannot handle school anymore.
So, we told him that he could be a “Love A Child employee!” We will give him a little money each month to put in a “bank,” so that when he is older he will have a little in his savings. Daniell-o is such a sweet kid! He is always gentle, always smiling, and does any kind of work! We know God loves him and has a great plan for his life.
