Daniella has a twin brother, Daniel. They were supposed to be triplets, but when their mother had caught a “Haitian tap tap” to take her to the poor people’s hospital, she arrived only to have gang members say that they were taking over, and no one was allowed into the hospital.

Daniella’s mother returned to their small “home,” to give birth to the triplets. Daniella and Daniel were born, but their mother died with the third baby. Daniella has always been so close to her brother, Daniel, but he seemed to have trouble with his eyes all his life. He even failed some classes and grades because he could not see. We had sent him to many Haitian eye doctors, but they just took our money and did nothing.

Daniella was determined to become an eye doctor because she remembered all the pain and emotional stress her brother went through. She is a devout Christian, loves Christian Praise Dances, and is sweet and humble. She is in college now and she will go far in her life.
