Twelve-year-old Daphline is growing up quickly! She’s in the 7th grade now. She was born in the mountains of Savaan Roche, Haiti. Her mother, Jolucia, died shortly after she was born. She was “given” to her aunt, whose husband had just been murdered. Her aunt already had a new baby, Jolina. She almost had a nervous break-down, with the death of her husband, and felt she could not take care of her own baby, let alone another, and so, she brought both babies down to us and we took them in.

She’s a very helpful young girl…ironing, cooking, cleaning her room, anything! She loves everyone and is never critical. If she’s in the middle of two children with an argument, she will always look for a way to settle the argument…she is a “peacemaker.”

And, she “loves cooking!!!” For now, she wants to be a pharmacist…but we will see. Oh, yes, the kids nicknamed her, “mosquito!” She’s always buzzing around!
