Our sweet Dimelia (Dumolia), is doing well in school, taking “pre-college” courses in Jamaica. When she finishes, she will have the grades she needs for medical college there.

Dimelia was very badly burned when she was a tiny little girl. She had fallen into a pot of boiling water, (her mother probably boiled the water for rice, and walked away.) When her father brought her to us, her scars were so bad she could not turn her neck up and down, nor from side to side. She could not raise her hands above her head. She also had severe burns on her neck and entire chest. We sent her back and forth to the Shriners Children’s Hospital Burn Center in Boston for many years. She finally was able to come to Haiti and finish high school.

She will now need surgery in the Dominican Republic and then rest in Haiti, until it is time to go back. She is growing and her chest skin is stretching and getting painful. They will have to do more skin grafts. When she finishes school for the summer, she will need to go for her chest surgery and skin grafts in the Dominican Republic. Then, she will rest here in Haiti for the summer and then return to Jamaica. Dimelia is special. She too, has God’s hands on her. We are praying that the Lord will provide the funds needed for her airfare and college.

We are praying that the Lord will touch someone’s heart to help with her ticket and surgery, she dreams of the opportunity to help those in need of medical care. God bless you.
