This is Dimelia, and she is from our Love A Child Orphanage. She is currently in Boston, having some surgeries to repair and help with her scar tissue. When she was very young, her father brought her to us. She had fallen into a pot of boiling water or cornmeal, and had been burned from her neck down to her waist. She spent months in the General Hospital, and some of the scar tissue was causing severe problems. She has made several trips to the Shriners Burn Center in Boston. She has a wonderful host mom there named Lori Hodell. Dimelia is now 17, a devout Christian, and is going to school in Boston until she returns home to us in a few months. She still needs some laser treatments and then, she will come back to her “Haitian family.” She is just a jewel and we love her and miss her so much! Sherry
