Donkey Delay

Donkey Delay

This morning, traffic came to a complete stop at Love A Child, not because of construction, not because of an accident, but because of our youngest donkey, who apparently believes he owns the entire compound!

As we drove down one of the roads, he confidently stepped right in front of the vehicle and refused to move. He stood there as if he had all the time in the world. After a few minutes of waiting, I finally got out of the truck and had to give him an ungentle push to convince him that the road belongs to everyone.

Sometimes God sends us little reminders in unexpected ways. This stubborn little donkey reminded me that patience is often tested when we least expect it. Life doesn’t always move at our speed, and sometimes we simply have to smile, wait, and enjoy the moment.

Today, my lesson in patience came with four legs and very long ears!

P.S. … He is the luckiest donkey in all of Haiti. He doesn’t have a care in the world and will never work a day in his life. He roams the place in freedom.
