Durkje, one of our missionaries, Barbara, our medical administrator, and I went to see Elijah in the hospital this afternoon. We were able to talk with a visiting neurologist from the States, and we also talked to the Haitian neurologist who did his surgery. Elijah is “holding his own.” He will have some tests tomorrow and stay on antibiotics for two more weeks. Then, the “team” of neurologists from the States will come in to do shunt surgeries and make a decision about him. So far, we think he is blind and deaf, but we cannot be certain.
