Today I was reminded why there is so much hope for Haiti.
Many years ago, a young man named Elizier came to work at Love A Child as a painter. Over the years, he and his crew have painted virtually every building on our compound, inside and out. If you’ve ever visited Love A Child and admired how beautiful the buildings look, chances are you were looking at Elizier’s work. In my opinion, he is the best painter in Haiti.
But what encourages me most is not his skill with a paintbrush; it’s his life. Elizier is a soft-spoken, Godly man who consistently displays the fruit of the Spirit. He loves God, loves his family, and lives in a way that always points people toward Christ. I have watched him grow from a young man into a devoted husband and father of beautiful children.
For years, I knew he could paint. This morning, I found out he can preach! The church was packed, filled with adults and so many little children. Elizier stood before them and delivered a powerful message with strength, conviction, and humility. The same man who has spent years painting buildings is now helping God shape lives. As I looked around the room, I saw a new generation listening to a man whose example is worth following.
That is hope for Haiti!
When faithful men and women rise up, love Jesus, serve others, and invest in the next generation, the future is bright. My prayer is that these children will follow Elizier’s lead and become the next generation of godly leaders who impact Haiti for Christ.
Thank you for supporting Love A Child. Because of your prayers and generosity, lives are being transformed every day, and the seeds of hope are growing in the hearts of Haiti’s children.
