Kim Ostrander, who is here with us at Love A Child, sent this to me just a few minutes ago. We have an emergency need for all our orphan children. I’m asking the Lord to lay on someone’s heart the total amount so that Kim and Jesse can purchase these things in Santo Domingo on Monday.

I am sure you know that the school date has been pushed back and forth a couple of times by the Haitian government. Our local schools here will start on the 14th of this month. Originally, we were scheduled to start mid-October. This is a problem because we need to purchase these items now so the kids are ready for school in a week or so. It is somewhat of an emergency situation because many of the kids do not even have a belt or shoes. They have outgrown them or have worn them out.

I am believing God that we can raise the funds with enough time, but I want you to know that we need to make a move quickly. Jesse and I can purchase everything in Santo Domingo. We could leave here on Sunday or Monday and be back in a few days with everything we need for the start of the school year.

Below is a list of the “school needs” for the orphan children. These items are needed immediately because of the change in the school start date. There might also be additional changes to the list after talking with the older children here at our orphanage. We also have children starting college.

– Yellow socks – girls
– Blue socks
– White socks
– Yellow ribbon – 50
– Black school shoes – boys
– Black school shoes – girls
– Underwear – boys
– Shirts – boys
– Panties – girls
– Bras – girls
– Backpacks for everyone
– School supplies (notebooks, paper, pencils, sharpeners, etc.) – 1,000
