After Ericka’s mother died, she became ill with a horrible skin infection and had severe malnutrition. She was being cared for by a neighbor, but Ericka was constantly crying and scratching. As she grew, she was also severely delayed and developed a speech problem. However, she communicates “very well!” School has been difficult for Ericka, but she won’t give up! She is now in 6th grade, is loving and kind, and never gives up on anything. Ericka also loves running and cleaning, and “dressing up for Church!” She is an “unstoppable young lady!”
