We could not have a sweeter young girl than Ericka! The first time we saw Ericka, she had severe malnutrition and a horrible skin disease. She was maybe five months old with a horrible skin infection. Her mother had died right after childbirth. A lady in the village cared for her until she could get help.
We took her in and soon found out that her speech and development were delayed. For years, she had a hard time learning how to speak, and she still has a small vocabulary.
Ericka loves babies and animals! She earns a little money at the orphanage doing ironing, etc. She is 19 and in 6th grade, but she won’t give up learning! We all love Ericka! I wish the world was full of “Erickas.”
