Ericka is the sweetest young girl in our Orphanage. She is handicapped. When she was born, her mother became very ill after delivery, and she died.

She was passed off to a neighbor who tried to care for her, but Ericka had severe health problems and skin problems. So we took her in.

Ericka can mimic sounds, but she cannot talk plainly. She just took her “sixth-grade test,” which would allow her to go to 7th grade, but she failed. Poor thing. She has been crying for days.

We will probably allow her to return to sixth grade again, but if she does not pass, we will need to give her a job and let her earn money for her future.

Having children with disabilities here in Haiti is a big problem, especially now. But we know the Lord loves her, and He loves all children, and He has a plan for each life.
