Esther… One day, many years ago, when we first moved to Haiti, we lived far up in the mountains of Mt. Noire. We rented a house up there. There was a big iron gate, and someone was always knocking on it. On this particular day, there was a poor, thin lady with a little girl and a baby in her arms at the gate. Her husband had died, and the mother was left with a baby and a five-year-old girl. The mother, Madamn Jesula, told us that she was sick and she was dying, and she wanted us to take in her baby and little girl, and raise them.
I talked to her and told her that first, we wanted to send the mother to a doctor. She was sick and frail. We found out that the mother, Madamn Jesula, was anemic and had not eaten much. We took her and her two children into our small Orphanage. We gave the mother a job, and we raised the two children there with their mother. The older “little girl” was Widlene, who recently graduated from college. She is a professional chef now. Esther is now in college to be a dental assistant. Both young ladies love the Lord and Madamn Jesula, their mother, who still works with us and lives in our Orphanage. This young lady, Esther, will go far in her life! She loves the Lord, and yes, she is praying for a good husband, “just as sweet as Poppie Bobby!!” Thank you, wonderful partners, for the lives you have saved and touched.
