I’m a believer that when school is not in session every kid should have a job here at Love A Child. If I see them standing around bored, I can always find some work for them to do! And since Haiti has a lot of political problems right now, and the streets are not safe, all the schools are closed except the “mountain schools.” That means, our Love A Child Schools here in Fond Parisien have been closed, too.

This past summer, I sent the twins, David and Davidson, to the mountains for a little “reality check,” or a “come to Jesus” lesson. They needed to remember “where they came from and where they would still be if it weren’t for the Lord.” They did really good when they first came back, but “they backslid” a little. Ha! I saw them standing around this morning and thought, “they need to see what ‘real work’ is about!” I took them to where we are building the new “Malnutrition Clinic” and put them under “Jean Eddy,” our Haitian foreman, and said, “You have two extra helpers, free of charge!” Now, they will learn blockwork and many other things and have a good feeling about accomplishing something to help their people… The new Malnutrition Clinic! I think that there is still hope for David and Davidson!!! Sherry
