Just as Jabez’s prayer in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 acknowledges God as the source of all His Blessings and asks for his territory to be expanded, we are now praying to expand our garden territory in Haiti. We have some unused land near the Children’s Home that Bobby and Wilner believe could be turned into productive new garden space within about 6 months. In addition to the Children’s Home and the patients at the clinics, there are more than 260 staff at Love A Child that we feed. That is a lot of mouths to feed every day.

With the new garden area, we think we could produce enough food so that all the kitchens would have organic produce every day. We need just two things: water and fencing (to keep Bobby’s pets out). When we can get a solar water pump for a well and some fencing, then we want to plant 300 to 400 banana, mango, papaya, avocado, and citrus trees. We plan to have bell peppers, hot peppers, corn, beans, spinach, eggplant, onions, and carrots. Wilner says that “If we have fruit, vegetables, and beans, we will break free from dependence on store-bought food. And please trust us, within 3 to 6 months we will be supplying food to all the kitchens every day. Spend once, harvest forever—that is our vision.”
