Today, my friend Joel Trimble called me in tears. (Joel and his wife Yvonne are known for their Haitian Creole television program called “La Bonne Nouvelle.”) He was calling from a cave with 180 families living inside because they lost their houses in Hurricane Matthew. They lost everything they had, and now they have nothing.

Two little babies have been born inside the cave. We gave Joel food, clothes, baby clothes and blankets to take to the families. This area is in the hills about one hour away from Jeremie, which was also devastated. Joel is saying that there is another cave, which has a smaller number of people living there.

Our hearts broke today for these families. Soon, Sherry, our daughter Julie, our Haitian staff and I will be taking more food and clothing to them. We may also conduct a Mobile Medical Clinic there in the New Year. Joel Trimble and his wife Yvonne are “heroes of faith.” We met them here in Haiti 35 years ago and they have been our mentors. “Love is something you do.” Bobby
