“Just Who is Your Neighbor?”
These children, brother and sister, live in a small village on top of a mountain here in Haiti. It is about an hour and a half from us here in Fond Parisien to the village. Their little “house” looks like an Indian Teepee, but made completely of straw. Neither brother nor sister have ever been to school. They know nothing, but hunger and long days of searching for “something to sell.” Then, when the sun goes down, if their father has nothing to give them, they spend another day without food…they live worse than most animals. Could these children really be our “neighbors?” Yes, they are…Luke 10 explains who your neighbor is and I pray you will remember their faces because there are many more children in Haiti, just like them.
