Feeding programs in Haiti require a lot of work! It is quite a job, just to get our food transported to Miami, then loaded on a boat and shipped across the ocean, then released from Haitian Customs, and finally transported to Fond Parisien to our Food Distribution Center. From there, the food has to be trucked by four-wheel-drives deep into the mountains, where the majority of our poor school children live. When it arrives, the food has to be cooked over open fires… the old fashioned way. We hire local women to cook the food, and then it is distributed to little children, who are grateful for this food.
