Here in Haiti, there are 13 years of school. The last year is called “Philo.” Some of our children in years past had to take Philo “several times” before passing! The test is “very rough!”
When a normal Haitian child from a “normal family” graduates, it is a “big event!” But when you have an Orphanage, even if “one child graduates,” it is a big event!!
Here in Haiti, children from orphanages are “looked down upon!” They do not have the respect that other children have, so when one child graduates from an Orphanage, it is a “big deal!” But, we have five graduating… Dieubon, Yolanda, Ada, Samuel, and Christian.
