Florence just passed 23 exams in English!! Florence came to us when she was a baby, about a year old. Her mother had died, leaving her father with no one to take care of his four children. We agreed to take them in.

She attended a Love A Child school here in Haiti. But, when the 2010 earthquake hit, our school became the largest field hospital in Haiti. So many people and children were instantly made “amputees!” Physical therapists were coming to Haiti to make sure the amputees got “physical therapy.”

Florence volunteered every day, and a “mantle” fell upon her for physical therapy! At that time, there were no universities in Haiti offering these courses. So, she studied English at the Haitian American Institute. She met a lady who told her about scholarships available in Italy for children from orphanages. She applied and was accepted. She had to wait a year before studying physical therapy, so they insisted that she study radiology for a year.

About a month ago, she told us she would be having 23 exams in English, and she was very nervous. We all prayed, and we just got a message from her that Florence passed them all! Florence is sweet, childlike, funny, thoughtful and above all, “loves chocolate!” We are so proud of her, and we all love her so much!!

P.S Florence is strong but very gentle. She really has a “gift from God” for physical therapy!
