I know we post a lot about feeding the children in the mountains and schools. We show you pictures of food distributions to thousands of people in South Haiti, here in Fond Parisien, and also hard-to-reach places way up in the mountains. Most of the food that we distribute gets shipped in large containers from the United States. If we have logistical problems and cannot get the food in with a container, we purchase it here in country. It can be very expensive.
But did you know that we also feed all of our employees every day? We have hundreds living on the compound because they cannot go home to their families in Port-au-Prince. The food we feed the employees does not come from the United States. We do not take the food that is intended for food distributions or feeding programs to feed the employees. It is designated to feed the poor. The food for the employees is usually purchased in the Dominican Republic and driven across the border in a large truck.
There are several kitchens at Love A Child that cook for several different departments. The food that is purchased gets delivered to each kitchen. It is a logistical juggernaut. The work must continue, and the people must be fed.
The work we do here is an act of faith. We believe in God for His provision, and He comes through. Thank you for being our partners in this work. Thank you for your continued support! Without you, none of this would be possible.
