UPDATE: Food and fish distribution changed to Tuesday.

The government of Haiti is not allowing any commercial flights into Haiti. I’m hearing “maybe not until July 20th.” No one knows for sure. Sherry and I are traveling today over to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to catch a private flight into Haiti. We have received permission from the Haitian government to arrive.

We are looking forward to distributing the Tilapia fish and rice this coming Tuesday. We will also be distributing rice, and hopefully fish, several days next week. It all depends on finances.

Due to political unrest, Covid-19 is spreading rapidly, and the value of the Haitian Gourde to the American Dollar is out of control. The prices of anything and everything is out of sight. Haitian family members back in the U.S. used to send a huge amount of cash back into Haiti each week to help their family members. Since so many Haitians have lost their jobs in America, due to Covid-19, about 80% of the cash has stopped coming into Haiti. Haiti has been devastated and is in a severe economic and food crisis. Our hearts have been torn out.

We can buy the fish at rock bottom prices now because the fish company, which is a sustainability ministry, is having a hard time feeding the fish, as well as having other problems. No one has any money.
