Food for Hungry Families

The rising prices of gas and diesel here in Haiti have made the price of food soar! The poorest of the poor feel pain, but it does not affect the “rich.” This is the very poor village of Old Letant, where most families live in mud-and-stick huts and sleep on dirt floors. Some people try to fish, and others make charcoal to sell.

When we come with a huge box of food for each family and a 5 lb sack of black beans, they are so excited!! One of our partners is giving a matching gift if we can find someone to sponsor a whole container of black beans, $12,500, and includes transportation to Haiti. This is great because the beans add “protein,” which the poor need for their diet but cannot afford.

Each family was so excited… some had already started their “fire” with three rocks and water boiling so that they could “run” to their hut and drop the food in!! These children will go to bed tonight with a full stomach, thanks to our partners!

God bless you,
Bobby and Sherry Burnette
