We first began our Love A Child Orphanage with four children from a poor family in the “L’Artibonite” area, which was a village of mud huts. We then took in four more children, whose mother had died earlier, but now, their father had also died. This was the “Jeannot” family, which included Franceau and his three other siblings, making a total of eight children. This is why we started to build a large orphanage. The need was great! (A few years ago, one of the Jeannot family’s children, Julia, passed away.) When a child in a “poor family in Haiti” loses his father and mother, they must be taken in by an orphanage. But in Haiti, there is “no government to do this!” Franceau is now married, has a child, and works and lives here at Love A Child in Haiti!
