From Death to Life

This is Yonel. He is now 29. Bobby and I remember the first time we saw him. His grandmother had brought him to one of our Mobile Medical Clinics in the mountains. He had severe, severe marasmus malnutrition. He had no hair and looked like “a skeleton!” You could count every bone in his body. His parents had died, and his grandmother was trying to raise him and his small, critically ill sister. We made the commitment that day, to bring him to our orphanage (which is now our Love a Child Children’s Home). Yonel was so hungry that he ate “nine mangos” on the ride home without stopping!

From that day forward, food and love brought him back to life! He has finished school and is now joining the “painting team” with two other brothers, Joseph and Jean Edward form Love A Child! They all do a great job! Yonel has been a “prodigal son” in the past, but he is under “grace” now. As Jesus said to the woman, “Go and sin no more…”

Yonel has a great talent for ministering to children! We do not know what is in store for him, but we pray that the Lord will use him because “God does nothing by accident!” If we had not been in that mountain village that week, he would have died a horrible death.

To all of you who have helped us in the past, and those who help us now with the Children’s Home, thank you with all our heart! These children are “the future of Haiti!”
