Love A Child Future Businessmen!

These are three of our older Love A Child kids. Dieuferly, Jean Gardy, and Franceau! This is a great story of three young men with a vision to have a little business here in Haiti amid the turmoil.

Dieuferly is our photographer, but, he also has a talent for music. Jean Gardy is in the middle. We all call him “the banker!” He is so good with money! He handles all the money for the older kids going to college or high schools. He collects all the money, stores it, and hands it out as needed to them. All the kids trust him with their money. If I need to send money to the Dominican Republic to someone, I call Jean Gardy and he handles everything! He also has his “minutes on the cell phone business!” When anyone needs to buy “minutes” for their cell phone, they go to Jean Gardy! Ha! Not only that, but he has had his own “drink business” in his bedroom for “only God knows how long!” He sells snacks and chips and cold drinks! He knows how to make money!

Franceau is good in business too. He loves to work on construction, do mason work, and anything to do with “electrical items.” The only time we have a problem with him is when there is a “church activity,” and Franceau disappears and winds up at church! (At least we know where he is).

We had an old mobile kitchen that was literally “on its last leg.” A friend of ours donated it to us after the earthquake and it has really seen its last days. So, the guys asked if they could have it for their “business.” They put their money together and had a little storage room built, a nice concrete slab, other things, and they had some land cleared. They want to start a business to sell food and drinks to our employees who sleep here at night. They want to hire a “good cook,” who makes delicious Haitian food. There are a lot of people who work and sleep at LAC and would like to have a snack at night or a cold drink!

They want to plant flowers and have a nice gravel walkway and plant some trees. I asked them why they need to do all this and they replied, “Poppie always does things First Class. He likes everything looking nice, and we do too!” We think they will be successful! They love God and they love making money! We are so proud of Dieuferly, Jean Gardy and Franceau!
