My mother died some years ago. She was the most devout Christian I have seen… My father was wanting to date my mother when she was in the 12th grade. She wanted nothing to do with him, but one day, he forced her, and she became pregnant with my sister. At that time, she was not Christian.

Years went by and my brother was born, and a few years later, I was born. But something was seriously wrong with me. I had what the doctors called “a telescopic bowel,” and they said that babies do not live through the operation I needed. My mother did not know how to pray but she went into a waiting room and said, “Lord, I am not a Christian, but my baby is dying and they give her “one chance out of 1,000 to pull through. If you save my baby’s life, I will dedicate her to work of the Lord, and I will serve you all the days of my life!”

“That baby” is writing you this story! We have been working on the mission field of Haiti since 1991!” My mother kept her promise and God kept His!! I will serve Him until the day I die, love Sherry
