God Will Move Mountains for Lionel!

Lionel is a really sweet young teenager. He is now 13 years old. It has been about five years since we took guardianship of him, when he was found in the street by the police, abandoned. It seems that his father had gotten angry at him and held his hand in boiling water. When he was brought to us, he was in terrible condition. He has been to the hospital and had a lot of treatment, but he really needs surgery and has not been able to get it since the hospital here is located in an area which is hard to get to. The city “before the hospital” has so much gang violence that it has been closed off. The trip we made several months ago with him resulted in us seeing a dead body on the right-hand side of the street and another dead one on the left, before we even got to the hospital.

Several of Lionel’s fingers have “scarred together,” so he desperately needs surgery. We are trusting the Lord that something here will open up because it is almost an impossibility to get someone out of Haiti for surgery.

In the meantime, he is going to school, learning well and working hard here at the Children’s Home. There is nothing that we ask Lionel to do that he won’t do, and he’ll do it with all his heart. He is sweet and humble, and we believe God will move for him! Sherry
