Often, you see the large weekly harvests that our Agricultural Training Center (ATC) staff take to our 5 kitchens at Love A Child. You may have noticed that they are greater and larger and with more variety of products over the years.
Wilner and his ATC staff have expanded our garden projects way beyond just the original demonstration gardens at our Training Center. A few years ago, we created the ever-expanding Vergé garden near the Children’s Home, and it now has many fruit trees and a wide variety of vegetables growing all year long.
Most of the harvests we show you happen on Monday, to replenish the kitchens after the weekend, but the ATC staff are harvesting from our gardens every 2-3 days. Over the years, our large gardens have been supplying more and more of the food we need to feed all the hungry growing children and all the many staff that it takes to maintain Love A Child. We are proud of the growing (pardon the pun) work that our gardens are doing to make us more self-reliant. Thank you to Wilner and his skilled staff and to Hope Seeds International for their important donations of seed to the hungry souls around the world.
