Haitian Children Love to “Dress Up!”

Operating an orphanage in Haiti takes a lot of patience and understanding! Their culture is much different than ours…

Here, we see Noah, Zachary, Kenzy, Joshua, and Samuel. Widelene, one of our older girls, took this picture yesterday as the little guys were heading off to church!

Haitian adults and children love to “dress up” for church and any occasion! These clothes were purchased by some of our partners, and the boys were so excited they could hardly wait for church!

While most boys in the States would never want to wear a long-sleeved white shirt and dress pants, the boys had taken their shower and were “ready to go!” (I was afraid to ask if they had a girlfriend! Ha!)

Haitians will look for every opportunity to “dress up,” even at our “Kindergarten Graduation,” they bought used clothes and gowns and came with their “hairdos” all dolled up!

With the crisis in Haiti, gangs, rising food prices, etc., it is good for them to have a break!

We love Haiti and Haiti’s people and adults!

Have a great day, and thank you, partners!
