A lot has changed in Joseph’s life since he was a baby. His mother died soon after he was born. When he and his sister, Sarah, were toddlers, they both had severe malnutrition. They were brought to our orphanage and then sent to a children’s hospital. We had to hire special workers to take of them, but little by little they got better.

Today, Joseph is 21 years old. He is currently working as a painter while he finishes his last year of school here in Haiti. Joseph loves to work, and he loves to make people laugh and smile. He is sweet, quiet, and respectful. He wants to be a mechanic. We believe God has wonderful plans for Joseph. He would have been dead if he had stayed in the mountains with no food.

There are many more “Josephs” out there, hungry, trying to survive. “God, help us to help them” is our prayer. Sherry
