This is Dieumet.  He’s had some recent setbacks. When Hurricane Matthew came through, their house fell. It was made of rocks and stuck together with mud. The water softened the mud and the wind blew the tin off. After, Dieumet gathered all the tin and built this little house you see to shelter his family. Out of desperation, he decided to go to Santa Domingo to earn money for his family. He wanted to earn enough money to build them a house that would shield them from all the mountain elements. While he was gone, we helped his family of eight children with some rice. Thanks to your generous donations, we can help others. When he returned he came with great sadness. All the money he had earned had been stolen. So he came back to his family, still in need. We have been able to help them over the hump. The rice you send has enabled us to help so many families just like them. In a time of crisis, we can step in and bridge the gap between despair and hope.
