Edna Matheus is a young, 27-year-old woman, who came to our Birthing Center last week. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy! But, Edna wasn’t smiling when she came to us. The weight of the world was heavy on her shoulders. Even though she did not have to pay for her room, delivery, medications, and food at the Birthing Center… she knew that when she went home, she and her two babies would be kicked out on the street to die of hunger. Her yearly rent was up, and she had no way of buying food. But, she had faith in God.

One of our partners had sent in money for a poor mother (with children), to start a business. This morning she left with money in her hand to pay her rent and start a little business. She said, “Now I can pay tithe when I go to church!” To those of you who bless the poor, you can sleep well tonight, knowing that God’s hand is upon you.
