Village of Petit-Goâve: GABION HOUSE PRAISE REPORT!
Louis Islande is a small market vendor in the Vialet market in the commune of Petit-Goâve. She is the mother of four children. She lost her home, everything inside it, and all of her merchandise. From that day on, she had no place for herself and her children to live. She and her family slept in the courtyard of the town hall.

Today she has received a beautiful new house where she can live with her family. She told us that her little business used to be what allowed her to put food on the table, but she no longer has the means to restart it. She had been selling cookies from a wheelbarrow in the market.

Update: Thank you, we have built 25 Gabion houses, and we have 15 more under construction! By faith, we’re hoping to build 100 of these Gabion houses for families with children who lost everything in the storm and flood. Each special Gabion-strong house costs $10,600. They will be able to withstand most hurricanes and earthquakes, which this area is prone to.
