The Poor in Haiti, in the Middle of Chaos

Haiti is, without a doubt, the “poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.” And now, the most dangerous country to live in.

Every day, as poor mothers struggle to find a way to get enough food for a small meal, their children are sick, and their toddlers are malnourished. With gangs on the streets, demanding money to pass by, they take the few gourdes (pennies) from the poor. The children won’t eat tonight.

Cholera has just struck Haiti, adding to the misery.

It is with a heart of compassion that our doctors and nurses work hard to care for each patient. They come from far away… from the tips of the mountains, to find healing. When the poor in Haiti have a tiny bit of money, they “never spend it on doctors or medicine…” it must be saved for food.

Because our clinic is funded by Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope, the poor come and do not have to pay for their consultation, labs, or medicines!

When they enter, our staff prays with them. While they are waiting, they see a ministry in French by Joyce Meyer. They receive Gospel booklets in French! They leave healed “from the inside out!”
