Inflation in Haiti

Due to the political crisis and ever-increasing inflation, I don’t even see how the poor Haitians are living. The gourdes rate (which is about 92 gourdes to the American dollar) causes all the prices of everything in Haiti to rise. The groceries we bought this week had doubled in price in one year. I’m telling you, the poor families in Haiti are on the brink of starvation. So many others are starving. When you have 85% unemployment, what do you do if you are a mother?

We see the pain of poverty and desperation in the Haitian faces every day. It’s very heartbreaking… Sherry and I still cry. The children suffer the most. Our biggest burden is to supply 7 to 8 containers of food each month, which come in from Feed My Starving Children. Here is how it works… Feed My Starving Children must raise the money on their end for each container of food, which costs them $65,000 per container. On our end, they donate the food to Love A Child, and then we must raise $10,000 per container to transport it to Haiti and bring through customs. Thank you, Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope and Jentezen Franklin’s Kingdom Connection Ministries for giving $10,000 each… every month; and they are never late. All of you who give smaller amounts down to the widow’s mite, thank you!!! Every month we pray for the need to be met by faith… love is something you do! Bobby Burnette
