This week, before Hurricane Melissa sent lots of rain to Haiti, Wilner and his ATC (Agricultural Training Center) crew had a good harvest of fresh vegetables and fruits. Look at this wagon load of avocados, eggplant, spinach, lettuce, and fruits like melons, bananas, and limes.
In another picture, you see three of the guys in the large Verje’ garden with harvested spinach, lettuce, eggplants, melons, and bananas. Between the Verje’ garden near the Children’s Home and the demonstration gardens at the ATC, there is something to harvest every day. Our plans are to expand the Love A Child gardens into a new space near the Children’s Home and let the children have a role in providing their own food. Jeremiah 29:5 tells us to plant gardens and eat them. There is nutrition, wisdom, and comfort in the word of God.
Thank you to all of you who help by supporting Love A Child ministry and the Sustainability programs. A huge thank you to Hope Seeds International, whose wonderful ministry provides appropriate seeds to hungry people around the world. Together, we are making a difference.
