When we first met Jackson, we were in the mountains of Savaan Pit, Haiti. We had conducted a huge “Mobile Clinic,” serving hundreds of poor…
One day, a young man arrived with a young boy named “Jackson.” Immediately, with his huge belly sticking out, we knew he was close to death with Kwashiorkor Malnutrition. His belly was enormous! He was full of fluid!!! This type of malnutrition is very dangerous…
Poor Haitian mothers all want “fat babies!” Since there is little food, they feed their babies with such things as crackers, cheap cookies, Haitian candy… but no foods that are good and healthy for them!
When we tried to take Jackson to the outhouse, it took two people to “lift him up the toilet!” He was “so heavy!” We brought him home with us!
It has been years since that day! He has had to make many, many trips to the Dominican Republic but God has kept him alive! We are so thankful to our partners who have paid for his care!
Last Christmas, we bought Haitian Creole Bibles for all our kids. Jackson loves his!
Please remember to pray for Jackson! He still needs a miracle!
Thank you, friends and partners!
