Jackson should have died years ago, but he has survived “against all odds!”

We found this young boy with his huge stomach in the mountains of Savaan Pit, Haiti. We were conducting a Mobile Medical Clinic when he was brought to us by his uncle. I picked Jackson up, and he “almost broke my back!”

He was full of water from a severe case of Kwashiorkor Malnutrition. We took him back home with us, which began the process of dialysis… “Haitian dialysis” “gone wrong!” They gave adult treatments to a child and nearly killed him until we found a wonderful doctor in the Dominican Republic, thanks to Jesse Ostrander!

The doctor then put Jackson on a strict healthy diet for the rest of his life, and with the help of a Love A Child partner, we were able to buy our own pediatric dialysis machine!

After changing Jackson’s diet, he began to do much better! He still must be on a strict diet and undergoes dialysis every night from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am!!

Guess what he wants to be when he finishes school?… A doctor! God bless our wonderful partners!
